Queensland Country U16 defeated their City counterparts 44–4 in a dominant display at Redcliffe’s Dolphin Stadium in the inaugural City v Country under-16 game.

The first of four games on Intrust Super Cup Grand Final day, the Country side jumped out to an early 18-0 lead with tries to Keanu Wright-Dunrobin, John Radel and Ragarive Wavik.

Wright-Dunrobin was hard to contain throughout the encounter, setting up three of his side’s eight tries.

City hit back through fullback Tuvalli Khan-Pereira for their lone try of the contest before Country centre Xavier Chatfield-Mooka crossed four minutes before the break to retore his side’s 18-point lead.

The second half was all Country again, with rampaging second rower Jeremiah Nanai crossing for three straight tries.

Radel grabbed his second of the game in the dying seconds to seal a 40-point win for the Country boys.

Nanai was named Man of the Match for his hat trick heroics.
