Round 19 of the Hastings Deering Colts was a split round, with the first three games being played on the weekend of July 27-28.

Wynnum Manly Seagulls 38 def. Easts Tigers 12
Wynnum Manly welcomed back fullback Shannon Gardiner in their 26-point win over the Tigers. The 2018 Colts Player of the Year, Gardiner scored one of the Seagulls’ seven tries in what was their fifth straight win. Wynnum Manly remain equal first but sit second on for and against, while Easts remain in eighth.

Townsville Blackhawks 42 def. Western Mustangs 6
Townsville continued their red hot form with a 36-point win over the Mustangs. The Blackhawks, who led 22-0 at half time, ran in eight tries, including a double to fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow. Townsville, who are on a seven-game winning streak, are just a point behind Burleigh and Wynnum Manly. Debutants: Cody Evans (Western Mustangs).

Sunshine Coast Falcons 22 def. CQ Capras 16
The Sunshine Coast further cemented their spot in the top four after holding off a fast finishing Capras outfit. The Falcons scored all 22 of their points inside the first 20 minutes before the Capras slowly fought their way back. They scored inside the final three minutes to cut the lead to six but the Falcons held firm.

Burleigh Bears 46 def. Redcliffe Dolphins 12
Burleigh returned to first place with a big 34-point win over Redcliffe at Pizzey Park. Bears’ fullback Jayden Campbell was electric, crossing for a hat trick and kicking four goals.
