Penrith’s Jack Cole has added to his stellar 2022 season by being named the Jersey Flegg Cup Player of the Year at the Brad Fittler Medal awards in Sydney this week.

The 19-year old Orange CYMS junior joined the Panthers system in 2019, starting off in their Harold Matthews Cup side before progressing to SG Ball.

He began 2022 in the Jersey Flegg, playing 10 games, and later represented New South Wales Under-19 in their win over Queensland.

A half by trade, he moved up to the club’s NSW Cup side mid-season, becoming a regular in the side that has qualified for the Grand Final.

In Round 25, he completed his progression through the ranks, making his NRL debut in Townsville against North Queensland.

A number of other junior players picked up trophies at the awards night including Newcastle’s Oryn Keeley, who was named New South Wales Under-19’s best.
