The Canberra Raiders under-20 side will return to the field in July to take part in the Canberra Raiders Cup first grade competition.

The Canberra Region Rugby League has today announced that the competition would go ahead in 2020, commencing in July.

Joining the Raiders will be the Queanbeyan Blues, Gungahlin Bulls and Woden Valley Rams.

The club had a bye in Round 1 of the Jersey Flegg Cup and were set to open their season against the Bulldogs in Round 2 before the cancellation of the competition in March.

Raiders’ coach Ash Barnes said of his side’s inclusion, “It’s a great positive for our team. Missing out on football this year would have been a detriment to our players, so for them to get a week in week out competition is great.”

“We’d like to thank the CRRL and clubs for the opportunity and support.”
