The France under-19 side’s tour of New Zealand has ended with a 38-26 loss to Auckland under-19 at Pulman Park on Sunday.
The touring side led 14-12 after a tense first half but were opened up in the second.
Auckland ran in five tries to push ahead, which included a double to winger Marcel Connal.
France continued to fight, adding two more tries to their tally, but it wasn’t enough, going down by 12 points.
They finish their tour with a record of two wins and two losses.
The tour began last week with wins over the Canterbury Invitation XIII in Christchurch and the Waikato under-20 side in Ngaruawahia, before succumbing to their first defeat at the hands of the New Zealand 18s in Rotorua.
