Easts Tigers 19 def. Norths Devils 8
Easts sit just one point outside the top 8 after an 11-point win over Norths. Tigers’ captain Dray Ngatuere-Wroe and Devils’ second rower Sosefo Filipine were sin binned in the 13th minute for fighting, with Ngatuere-Wroe returning to kick a field goal to give his side a rare 1-0 half time lead. A double shortly after the break to Jared Chambers gave Norths an 8-1 lead before the Tigers ran in three tries to grab the win.

Townsville Blackhawks 36 def. Tweed Heads Seagulls 10
Townsville extended their winning run to four games with a dominant 26-point win over Tweed Heads. The Blackhawks had the game wrapped up by half time, taking a 30-6 lead into the break. Townsville prop Wiremu Greig bagged a double in the win, taking his season tally to nine. The win leaves the Blackhawks one point off first, while Tweed drop to 8th spot.

Sunshine Coast Falcons 34 def. Redcliffe Dolphins 14
The Sunshine Coast snapped a two-game losing streak with a strong 20-point win over Redcliffe. The Falcons, who led 22-0 at half time, ran in seven tries, which included a double to prop Wyatt Reynolds. The win moves the Sunshine Coast into sixth, while Redcliffe remain at the tail end of the ladder in 13th.

Wynnum Manly Seagulls 28 def. CQ Capras 20
Wynnum Manly held off a late surge from the Capras to record back-to-back victories. After a narrow 6-4 half time lead, the Seagulls jumped out to a 24-point lead with under 15 minutes to play. The Capras ran in three tries in five minutes to get within eight points but it wasn’t enough, as their two-game winning streak came to an end.

Burleigh Bears 22 def. Ipswich Jets 10
Burleigh remain in first place thanks to a 12-point win over the Jets at North Ipswich Reserve. Thanks to a Shallin Fuller double, the Bears led 18-0 after 26 minutes before Ipswich fought back to trail by eight at half time. Points were scarce in the second half until Bears’ centre Will Evans crossed in the 65th minute to seal the victory.

Northern Pride 17 def. Western Mustangs 16
A Jai Doherty field goal was all that separated the Pride and Mustangs in Cairns as the Pride returned to the winner’s circle. After trailing by six at the break, the Mustangs scored back-to-back tries early in the second half to lead by four points. Damien Burke crossed in the 57th minute to tie the scores before Doherty iced the game with a one-pointer in the 66th minute. The win keeps the Pride in fourth, while the Mustangs remain in last place.

Mackay Cutters 42 def. Souths Logan Magpies 16
A dominant final 20 minutes has seen Mackay blow past Souths Logan and record their sixth straight victory. The Cutters led by just four points heading into the final 20 before they ran in four unanswered tries. Walter Lauenstein and Rayden Burns both crossed for doubles in the win, with Lauenstein taking his season tally to nine. The win moves Mackay into fifth on the ladder.
