Queensland successful in Murri-Koori clash

The Queensland under-16 Murri side overcame a halftime deficit to defeat their New South Wales Koori counterparts 36-26 in the annual Murri v Koori match at Mudgee on Saturday afternoon.

Trailing 14-12 at the break, the Queenslanders scored 24 second half points to regain the trophy from New South Wales.

Queensland centre Watjerra Briggs and halfback Reece Walsh both scored doubles in the win, while New South Wales centre Tyrone Nean also crossed twice.
