NSW triumph in U19 Origin

A try to Blues speedster Teagan Berry sealed the victory for New South Wales over Queensland in Friday night’s Under-19 Origin clash at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

Trailing by two points with 15 minutes to play, Berry found space out wide and sprinted away to score her second try of the game.

The Blues 16-12 victory is their second in a row in junior Women’s Origin fixtures after defeating Queensland in 2019’s Under-18 contest.

New South Wales jumped out to a 10-nil lead in the first before Queensland crossed through second rower Sara Sautia just before half time.

Three minutes after the break, Maroons’ interchange forward Hannah Larsson sliced through a gap to score put her side in front for the first time.

Blues’ five-eighth Luisa Yaranamua was the star of the show, winning Player of the Match after scoring a try herself and setting up another.
