The Canberra Raiders have announced that they will not field an under-21 team for the 2021 Jersey Flegg Cup season.
The Raiders are now the third club to announce their leave from the competition, following the Newcastle Knights and North Sydney Bears.
The club, who also announced a return to the NSW Cup in 2021, will look to possibly re-enter the competition in 2022.
Players who had been training in the club’s Flegg squad will now get the chance to play in the senior competition, with Flegg head coach Peter Marrapodi being appointed head coach of the NSW Cup team.
The Raiders under-20 side took part in the shortened CRRL Cup in 2020, winning the competition.
