The New South Wales under-20 side has convincingly defeated Queensland 36-10 at ANZ Stadium to regain the Darren Lockyer Shield.

After a tight opening 20 minutes, in which the scores were locked at 4-all, the Blues extended their lead to 12 going into half time.

Panthers’ five-eighth Matt Burton crossed for two of the Blues’ first half tries.

The second half was all New South Wales as they ran in three tries in 15 minutes to blow the lead out to 36-4, before Queensland crossed late through Murray Taulagi.

Burton was named Man of the Match for his two try heroics.
