New South Wales have been crowned as the inaugural under-18 Women’s Origin champions after defeating Queensland 24-4 at North Sydney Oval.
Illawarra’s Teagan Berry scored two of the junior Blues’ four tries, with second rower Caitlan Johnston winning the Nat Dwyer Medal for Player of the Match.
Berry opened the scoring with a length of the field intercept try before Olivia Kernick crossed to extend the New South Wales lead to 12.
Berry crossed for her second shortly after the break, with Queensland getting on the scoreboard in the 39th minute when halfback Courtney Tamati pounced on a loose ball.
In the final minutes, Johnston stormed down the left edge in to score and seal the game for the Blues.
