Each week in the U20 Report we look at under-20 eligible players from your club who are currently playing in either the Intrust Super Cup (Queensland) or Canterbury Cup (New South Wales).

Brisbane Broncos
Herbie Farnworth continued his strong form in 2019 with a try and 107 running metres in Norths’ win over rivals Redcliffe. His team mate Ethan Bullemor started at prop, running for 77 metres, while on the opposite side, halfback Cory Paix made 13 tackles and forced a drop out for the Dolphins. Souths Logan under-20’s players Vaea Vaea and Jacob Alick made their ISC debuts in their side’s loss to Townsville, while halfback Tanah Boyd returned to the lineup.

Sebastian Kris, fresh off another NRL appearance, was a standout in Mounties’ first win since Round 10. The ACT junior ran for 129 metres from 13 runs, while Darby Medlyn and Kyle Paterson both played 20+ minutes off the interchange. Duwayne Mariner was named on the bench but did not get on the field.

It was a rough day for Tweed Heads in Round 13, thoroughly beaten 36-0 by the high flying Sunshine Coast. Centres Ioane Seiuli and Treymain Spry were not at their usual best, both running for just 70+ metres.

19-year old Tino Fa’asuamaleaui was unstoppable in the Sunshine Coast’s big win over Tweed. Starting for the first time in 2019, he played the full 80 minutes, running for a massive 231 metres and breaking seven tackles. Five-eighth Cooper Johns set up two tries for the second straight game.

Jersey Flegg halfback Bayden Searle made his debut in the defeat, making 32 tackles and kicking for 136 metres. Prop Mathew Croker added 79 metres and 22 tackles off the bench in just over half an hour.

Tom Gilbert was strong again for Townsville in their win over Souths Logan, running for 149 metres and making 34 tackles in 66 minutes. Prop Wiremu Greig returned to the ISC in the victory, running for 32 metres in 22 minutes.

His centre Daine Laurie ran for 154 metres and set up a try, while prop Spencer Leniu scored a try andmade 116 metres off the bench in 46 minutes of action.
