Mackay Cutters 26 def. Ipswich Jets 0
Mackay held a team scoreless for the second straight week, defeating Ipswich 26-0 for their fourth straight win. The Cutters led by just eight going into half time before scoring 18 points in the second half. Halfback and captain Brendan White scored 14 of Mackay’s 26 points, crossing for a try and kicking five goals in the win.

Northern Pride 8 def. Easts Tigers 6
The Northern Pride snapped a three-game losing streak with a tight two-point win over Easts at Langlands Park. Trailing 6-0 at the break, the Tigers quickly levelled the scores three minutes after half time. The score was locked at 6-all for the next 25 minutes before Benn Campagnolo kicked a penalty goal with five minutes remaining to give the Pride the win.

Townsville Blackhawks 34 def. Wynnum Manly Seagulls 4
A big second half gave Townsville a 30-point win over Wynnum Manly at Kougari Oval. Leading 10-4 at half time, the Blackhawks scored 24 unanswered points in the second half, running in four tries. Both sides finished the game with 12 men, as Lachlan Perry and Ben Condon were sin binned in the 66th minute. The loss was Wynnum Manly’s first since Round 6.

Redcliffe Dolphins 24 def. Western Mustangs 16
Redcliffe overcame a half time deficit to defeat the Mustangs, picking up their first win of 2019 and ending a 10-game losing streak. Trailing 16-0 after 22 minutes, it was looking like another loss for the Dolphins before two late first half tries got them back in the contest. The second half was all Redcliffe, as they ran in four tries to grab their first competition points of the season.

CQ Capras 40 def. Norths Devils 4
Central Queensland pulled off their biggest win of the season so far with a 36-point drubbing of Norths at Browne Park. The Capras trailed 4-0 early before running in 40 unanswered points over the next 48 minutes. Capras fullback Travis Turnbull contributed 16 points on his own, scoring a try and kicking six goals. The loss was the Devils’ third straight.

Tweed Heads Seagulls 26 def. Souths Logan Magpies 16
Tweed Heads triumphed over Souths Logan at Piggabeen to record back-to-back wins for the second time in 2019. After a narrow 12-6 half time lead, Tweed were able to push away in the second half with tries to Callum Boomer and Reece Butler. The win moves Tweed Heads into the top 8.

Burleigh Bears 23 def. Sunshine Coast Falcons 22
A Jayden Campbell field goal in the final minute gave Burleigh a one-point win over Sunshine Coast, in what was the game of the round. After a tight first half, the Bears pushed their lead out 12 with 15 to play. Looking for their sixth straight win, the Falcons surged back into the contest with tries to Jack Wright and Wyatt Reynolds, levelling the scores with three minutes remaining. Two minutes later, Campbell kicked the winning field goal to give the ladder leaders their seventh consecutive victory.
