Easts Tigers 36 def. Tweed Heads Seagulls 24
Three tries in the final 15 minutes pushed Easts to a 12-point win over Tweed Heads on Saturday. A double to Seagulls’ lock Blake Campbell gave his side an lead early before the Tigers took it before the break. Easts’ hooker Joel Hughes scored twice and kicked four goals in the win. The victory moves the Tigers into the top 8, overtaking Tweed.

Wynnum Manly Seagulls 34 def. Western Mustangs 10
Wynnum Manly moved into second spot on the ladder with a strong 24-point win over the Mustangs at Gold Park. The Seagulls were rarely troubled by the Mustangs, jumping out to a 24-0 lead before their opponents scored a try. Jake Simpkin, a star for Wynnum’s Mal Meninga Cup side, made his Colts debut in the victory, scoring a try.

Mackay Cutters 20 def. Norths Devils 19
Mackay recorded their second big scalp of the season in Round 10, defeating a strong Norths side a week after ending the Pride’s unbeaten streak. In an unbelievably close contest, the Cutters got within a point when Mason Thorpe scored in the 59th minute. Four minutes later, Brendan White kicked a penalty goal to give them the lead and, eventually, the win.

Burleigh Bears 32 def. Northern Pride 10
A dominant second half by Burleigh gave them a win over the Pride and first place on Saturday afternoon. In one of the more anticipated games of the season, the Bears trailed the Pride by just one point on the ladder heading into the contest. Leading by two at half time, Burleigh turned it on in the second half, scoring four unanswered tries. The win was Burleigh’s fifth straight, while the Pride have now lost back-to-back games after a seven-game winning run.

Sunshine Coast Falcons 22 def. Townsville Blackhawks 18
The Sunshine Coast got the better of Townsville at Jack Manski Oval in a tight contest, that was decided in the end by goal kicking. The Falcons led 12-4 at half time with the teams finishing the game with four tries apiece. Sunshine Coast hooker Tyson Smoothy’s boot was the difference in the end, kicking three goals to Adam Cook’s one. The win was the Falcons’ fourth straight.

CQ Capras 40 def. Redcliffe Dolphins 6
The Capras picked up their fourth win of the year, and their second straight, with a dominant 34-point win over the hapless Dolphins at Browne Park. The Capras ran in seven tries, including a double to hooker Jack Patties, in the victory. The win puts the Capras just a point outside the top 8, while Redcliffe remain dead last, without a win in 2019.

Souths Logan Magpies 38 def. Ipswich Jets 28
Souths Logan snapped a four-game losing streak with a close 10-point win over the Jets at Davies Park. Welcoming back halfback Tanah Boyd, the Magpies jumped out to a 20-10 lead at half time. Ipswich, who were looking for their second win of 2019, fought back valiantly after the break and led by two with 20 minutes to play. Five minutes later, the Magpies retook the lead and pushed away with two tries in five minutes.
