
Newcastle Knights’ captain Zac Hosking was named the club’s Player of the Year at the Danny Buderus Medal awards night on Thursday evening.
The lock forward played 22 games in 2017, averaging 92.8 metres and 33.7 tackles per game, and led his side into the finals series.
Fullback Matt Cooper was awarded the Players’ Player award, playing every game in 2017 and scoring 17 tries.
Departing centre Heath Gibbs, who scored 18 tries 24 games, was also honoured, winning the Coaches Award.
