England Youth secured a 2-0 series victory after defeating France under-17 at Hull and Wakefield last week.

The first fixture, held at Hull’s KCOM Craven Park, saw England triumph 36-12.

It was a fiery encounter, with France being reduced to 11 players and England to 12 after a scuffle shortly before half time.

In the following 10 minutes after the break, England crossed for three tries and shot out to a 24-2 lead, in which France were not able to recover from.

England five-eighth Will Pryce, son of former England and Great Britain international Leon Pryce, scored a try and kicked four goals in the win.

In the second game, which took place at Wakefield’s Mobile Rocket Stadium, was a much closer contest, with England winning 24-16 after France led 8-6 at half time.

The scores were locked at 16-all going into the final portion of the match before two late tries to the home side saw them seal the victory and the series win.

Centre Leon Stewart, who plays for the City of Hull Academy, scored a hat trick, which included the try to put England ahead late.
