North Queensland Cowboys halfback Jake Clifford has been named the NYC Player of the Year at the Dally M awards in Sydney tonight.
In his first season of Holden Cup, Clifford played 22 games, scoring 10 tries and kicking 78 goals for 196 points.
A Tully Tigers junior, he added 10 try assists, 13 line break assists and 10 line breaks, while averaging 208.7 kick metres per game.
Clifford signed a two-year NRL contract with the Cowboys in May and will join their first grade squad in 2018.
