
Fijian flyer Mikaele Ravalawa was named the Canberra Raiders’ NYC Player of the Year at the club’s presentation evening last night.
Recruited from Burnside College in New Zealand, Ravalawa was the Raiders’ top try scorer in his debut season, with 12 tries in 22 games.
Spending time at wing and centre, he led the club in run metres, line breaks and tackle breaks, averaging 134.2 metres and 4 tackle breaks per game.
Prop Emre Guler was named the Gordon McLucas Memorial Junior Rep Player of the Year after representing the Junior Kangaroos and New South Wales under-20s in 2017.
Jarred Tuite was also honoured, receiving the NYC Coaches Award, while fullback Harry van Dartel received the Geoff Caldwell Career & Education award.
