North Queensland Cowboys’ players Enari Tuala and Jake Clifford have signed NRL contracts with the club and will join their first grade squad in 2018.

Both player’s have signed two-year deals, keeping them in Townsville until the end of the 2019 season.

Clifford, a Tully junior, made his NYC debut in Round 1 after missing the 2016 season with a shoulder injury.

The halfback has four try assists, seven line break assists and has kicked for 1403 metres so far this year.

Tuala, currently recovering from a broken jaw sustained playing for the Junior Kangaroos, is the Cowboys’ leading try scorer this season with six tries in seven games.

A try scorer in the Cowboys’ NRL trial against the Roosters in March, Tuala has also been a member of the club’s weekly 21-man NRL squad this year.
