Queensland State of Origin great Justin Hodges has been announced as the Queensland under-20 head coach for 2017.
Hodges, who played 24 games for the Maroons, takes over from Kurt Wrigley, who coached the side the last two years.
Since retiring at the end of the 2015 season, Hodges has been involved with the Queensland under-16 side and QAS under-20 Emerging Origin squad.
In 2016, he coached the Australian Catholic University in the Queensland Universities competition and in 2017, he joined the Brisbane Broncos NYC coaching staff.
Former Maroon and premiership winner Scott Prince joins Hodges’ staff as assistant coach.
Yet to win an under-20s Origin game, Queensland will take on New South Wales as the curtain raiser to Origin I at Suncorp Stadium on May 31.
