Former NYC player Ryan Carr will make history in 2017 after being appointed as the new South Sydney Rabbitohs’ head coach.

Carr, who played for the Cowboys in the inaugural NYC season, will become the first former player to coach a side in the competition.

The Cronulla junior spent time with the Redcliffe Dolphins, Mounties and South Sydney after his season with the Cowboys.

Former NRL players Pat Richards and Ben Lowe will join Carr’s staff as assistant coaches.
