Sydney Roosters’ lock Nat Butcher has been named the RLPA NYC Player of the Year at The Players Champion awards in Sydney.

The South Eastern Seagulls junior has been the benchmark forward in the under-20s competition, averaging the most metres per game (187.1) and tackles (42.4) of any forward. His 386 runs are the most of any player, while he also has the second most total run metres (3928) and the third most tackles (891), along with his 34 offloads and 82 tackle breaks.

A New South Wales U20 representative earlier this year, Butcher made his NRL debut for the Roosters in Round 26 against the Brisbane Broncos.
