The New South Wales under-20 side has retained the Darren Lockyer Shield for the fifth straight year with a 36-22 victory over Queensland.

Queensland opened the scoring through winger Bernard Lewis, before the Blues hit back with tries to Reuben Garrick and Lachlan Croker before half time.

It was all one way traffic in the second half, New South Wales running in three straight tries in under 10 minutes.

The Maroons fought back bravely towards the end of the game, Lewis picking up his hat trick, but it wasn’t enough, New South Wales once again triumphing in under-20’s Origin.

New South Wales 36 (Jack Cogger, Lachlan Croker, Matthew Dufty, Reuben Garrick, Bayley Sironen, Zac Woolford tries; Brian Kelly 6 goals) def. Queensland 22 (Bernard Lewis 3, Gideon Gela-Mosby, Bacho Salam tries; Brodie Croft 1 goal) at ANZ Stadium.
