The Townsville Blackhawks have won their third straight Mal Meninga Cup title, defeating the Norths Devils 38-16.

It was a dominant performance by the Blackhawks, who were clinical close to the line.

On the back of a penalty they were able to open the scoring through centre Samuel Martin.

Norths were wasteful with their opportunities and Townsville scored their second when winger Michael Carroll dived over in the corner.

A penalty goal to the Blackhawks gave them a 14-0 lead.

Off the ensuing kick restart, Duarne Dempsey made a line break and found fullback Marshall Hudson who scored near the posts.

Townsville taking a 20-0 lead into half time.

The Blackhaws resumed their domination after a try to Jayden Stephens, who barged over from dummy half.

Norths captain Unngoorra Harbour got his side on the board with a nice try but Townsville hit back minutes later through Duarne Dempsey.

Late tries to Jack Paterson and Kalemb Hart added some respectability to the score line for Norths.

Townsville prop Emry Pere crossed for the final try of the game, Oscar Carter converting his 7th goal of the game.
