
Former Parramatta and South Sydney player David Penna has been announced as the Rabbitohs’ Holden Cup coach for 2016.
Along with his NYC duties, Penna will also assist Michael Maguire with South Sydney’s NRL squad.
Penna has been a member of Manly’s coaching staff for the past ten seasons, four of them as their NYC coach.
Under his control, the Sea Eagles won the minor premiership in 2009 and made the finals a year later in 2010.
He is Manly’s most successful NYC coach, with a win percentage of 47%.
Penna played 78 games for the Eels in two stints with the club and played 56 for the Rabbitohs between 1994 and 1997.
Matt King, another former Rabbitoh, will coach the clubs SG Ball Cup side.
