
Former South Sydney and St George Illawarra halfback Willie Peters has been announced as the Wests Tigers’ Holden Cup coach for 2016.
Peters started his career with the Rabbitohs before moving to the Gateshead Thunder in the Super League, where he was named at halfback in the 1999 Dream Team.
After a season at Wigan in 2000, Peters returned to the NRL with the Dragons, where he spent two seasons
In 2003, he rejoined South Sydney and finished his playing career with Widnes in 2004.
Peters coached South Sydney’s Harold Matthews side in 2014 and their SG Ball side in 2015, taking them to them Grand Final after finishing in fourth spot.
He takes over from Brett Kimmorley, who coached the side for just the one season.
