Brisbane Broncos halfback Ashley Taylor has been named the 2015 Dally M NYC Player of the Year at the Dally M Awards in Sydney on Monday night.
He becomes the third Broncos player to win the award after Ben Hunt in 2008 and Tariq Sims in 2010.
The award tops off an impressive season for Taylor in which he represented the Junior Kangaroos, Queensland under-20s and made his NRL debut.
Taylor was instrumental to the Broncos success in 2015, playing 18 games and only losing three of them.
An injury in his first grade debut in Round 26 ruled him out of the finals series and effectively dashed Brisbane’s premiership chances.
He finished the season as the competition’s top point scorer with 203 points and had 27 try assists, 17 line break assists and four 40/20s, the most in the competition.
Taylor will join the Gold Coast Titans in 2015 and hope to form a halves partnership with the 2014 Player of the Year Kane Elgey.
