New South Wales have made it four straight Under 20s Origin victories with a 32-16 win over Queensland on Wednesday night.
Defensively impressive all game, the Junior Blues scored all six of their tries down Queensland’s right side with Gold Coast Titans winger Brian Kelly the major benefactor, scoring four tries.
New South Wales took an early 12-0 lead thanks to Kelly’s first two tries of the night. The Junior Maroons fought their way back into the game with a try to Gideon Mosby-Gela, going into the half time break 12-4.
A Queensland try after half time to Alex Barr put the Maroons two points behind but after Queensland’s Jayden Nikorima was forced from the field with injury, it was all New South Wales.
Latrell Mitchell broke through some soft defence to score an impressive try, which was followed up by two more tries to Kelly, who also set up a try for Jackson Hastings.
Queensland pegged back a consolation try to Luke Bateman off a Blues error but the damage was already done.
New South Wales halfback and captain Drew Hutchison was named Man of the Match.
